The Soiree ended successfully. Pris and I joined the line as the guests started to leave, thanking them for coming. Grayson came up to me with a smile. I looked up and returned one.
"I'll be seeing you on Monday?" he asked. I looked at him in surprise.
"I see, Rachel told you?", I asked him and he nodded.
"Until then, I'll be thinking of you." he siad softly for my ears only. I smiled up at Grayson, and he moved on, thanking Mum and Dad before leaving with his family.
I settled in my bed after a long warm shower. It's finally over. I stared up at the ceiling and sighed. Gareth looked like he wanted me back, but at the same time, he felt so distant. It was confusing. Having the final say might get him to start doing something. Then again, maybe he might not take any action. I sighed again and snuggled under the covers, ready to fall asleep when I heard a thud from my door. I ignored it and closed my eyes.
Another thud, and a groan.
I quickly got out of bed and went to the door and leaned my ear against it. A groan and a thud. I jumped back and opened the door slowly and peeked out. I opened the door somemore and Gareth stumbled in and on me. I squeaked and caught hold of him.
"Don't go Autumn.", he mumbled . I sighed and I looked up, struggling under Gareth's weight. Pris was coming out of her room.
"What happened to him?" she asked. I shrugged my shoulders. Pris sighed.
"Let's get him into you room.", she said and helped support him.
The two of us huffed and puffed and finally got Gareth on my bed.
"Do you need my help?" Pris offered.
"It's ok, I can handle it from here. You get to bed. I'll see you in the morning." I told her. She nodded and left my room.
"Let me know if you need help." she said before she closed the door.
I turned my attention to Gareth. I got off the bed and went to my closet. His clothes were still neatly placed in his corner of the closet. I picked out a shirt and a pair of shorts for him.
"Autumn, don't go. I'm sorry." Gareth groaned.
And I thought he swore off the alcohol. I shook my head and headed into the bathroom and grabbed a small towel and soaked it with hot water in a small tub. I threw the clothes on the bed beside Gareth and set the tub of water on the side table. I reached over and helped Gareth out of his suit. His eyes fluttered opened and he looked at me
"Autumn? Is that you?" he groaned.
"Lie down. You had too much to drink and you will regret it in the morning." I said to him as I unbuttoned his shirt.
"What are you doing? he was slurring.
"I'm washing you up since you won't be able to do it yourself. Get to sleep Gareth, you will need it." I said gently.
"Stop, we need to talk." he slurred. I looked up at him.
"We can talk in the morning." I told him gently as I slid his shirt off his shoulder. Gareth reached out and grabbed my hand and turned me around and the next minute I was on thebed and Gareth was on top of me.
Gareth leaned in and kissed my cheeks gently. He smelled strongly of whiskey.
"Gareth, you're drunk." I reminded him.
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I'm--"
Gareth quickly covered his mouth, got off the bed and ran into the bathroom and I heard renching from the bathroom. I got out of bed and walked over. Gareth was kneeling over the toilet bowl and vomitting. I filled out a mug with water from the tap and kneeled beside Gareth. Setting the mug on the floor, I grabbed the toilet paper and pulled a huge amount and set them beside the mug. I gently rubbed his back as he vomitted somemore. The last bit came out and he turned to look at me.
I handed him the toilet papers and he took it to wipe his mouth and dumped them into the toilet bowl. I then handed him the mug of water, which he used to rise his mouth. That done, I reached out and flushed the toilet. Gareth sat down on the floor and leaned at the edge of the toilet bowl looking down on the floor. I settled in beside him.
"I didn't want you to see me like that." Gareth siad softly, breaking the silence.
"I know. Why don't you take a quick hot shower, it will help with the hangover tomorrow. I've got some fruit juice in my bar fridge if you need to have some." I explained to Gareth as I got up slowly. Gareth grabbed hold of my hand, his grip was sluggish.
"Thank you." was all he said as he tried to get up. I reached out and helped him up and led him into the shower room. He grabbed the handle on the shower door. I sighed.
I led him out and reached out to lower the toilet seat. I sat Gareth down and went to the tub and turned on the tap to check the temperature of the water. With that done, I let the tub fill up and went out to get Gareth's clothes. I poured out a glass of water and went back into the bathroom.
"What are you doing?" Gareth asked softly.
"You're too woozy to shower on your own. I'm giving you a bath." I said as I set his clothes on the clothes hanger. I grabbed a fresh towel from the cabinet above the toilet bowl.
"I can--" Gareth rebutted.
"Shut up and let me wash you up." I said sternly. Gareth looked at me wide eyed and decided it was best not to argue with me.
I reached out and slipped his shirt off and threw it in the wash pile. I reached down and began to undo his belt, when Gareth's hand stopped me. I looked up at him.
"I can do it on my own." he said.
"It's not like I've never seen it." I said.
"But that was when--" Gareth began.
"I'll check on the water." I interupted him and got up to the bath tub.
~~~
Gareth watched her checked the water in the tub and silently cursed himself. He felt like crap. He slowly undid the buckle of his belt, feeling woozy didn't help his concentration. Autumn must have noticed and she took over. Without much effort, she stripped him down only to his boxers. She then helped him up and into the tub, which she poured some bubble bath into the tub. The hot water helped Gareth feel better.
Autumn then proceeded to washed him down with a small towel, gently pouring the water over his head and shampooing his hair. After the finalt rinse, Autumn picked up the fresh towel and opened it. Gareth slowly got up and Autumn pulled the plug allowing the water to drain. She then wrapped the towel around his shoulders and helped him out of the tub.
"My boxers are dripping wet." Gareth commented.
"Take them off then." Autumn said. Gareth hesistated.
"We can stand here all night waiting for it to dry. I'll wrap the towel around your waist when you take it off." she said.
"I can do it on my own." he said. Autumn shrugged and turned around to get another towel to dry Gareth's hair with. Gareth took the oppotunity to remove his wet nderwear and warp the towel on his waist.
They left the bathroom and settled on Autumn's bed. Autumn climbed in behind Gareth and helped dry his hair as well as his upper body. Gareth watched her as she worked. He smiled inwardly. It felt good that she was caring for him. Once changed into fresh clothes, she handed him a glass of orange juice which Gareth gladly drank. And also a glass of water, which he also downed before settling into bed.
"Get some sleep. You will need lots of it. Good whisky should not kill your head tomorrow, but you will still have a heavy head." Autumn explained as she pulled the covers up, making sure that Gareth was comfortable. Gareth reached out and took her hnd in his. Autumn looked at him, surprised.
"Thank you Cheri." Gareth said softly before falling asleep.
Autumn watch Gareth and gently traced her fingers over his forehead to ease the frown he had while he slept. When relaxed, he snuggled into the pillow and slept on. Very soon, she too fell asleep.
