Priscilla: Homecoming

I left for the airport that evening leaving Qiu and the guys alone.. I felt quite uneasy but hey, when you had to, you had to. Anyways, Joseph send me to the airport to board the plane.

The plane soon take off and my journey to London began. It's not just a simple garden party, but my introduction to the entire household. I had never been to London ever since I could remember, and I had never knew what my real family and relatives look like; but I knew that deep down inside my heart, somewhere hidden was an entire memory of family happiness and I knew that I will get to know them all over again when I reach London.

The trip on the plane was really boring.. beside the two pilots, two stewardess, mum’s hired bodyguard on board.. There was no one else... so the whole lot of us except the pilots chit-chatted on board. It was soon late and I turned in for the night.

The morning soon come and I reached London-Heathrow airport at 10am Sunday morning. Then I was chauffeured to the manor. The car trip alone took another 45 minutes.

Mum and Dad welcomed me at the door and was glad that I was finally home. When I stepped into the manor, another feeling took over me, because the manor was huge. The ceiling seems too high to reach by ladder and the grand staircase was the biggest I ever saw. Talk about saying our house back in Singapore was big. This is really a giant.

The hall was filled with people I never seen before with the exception of Princess Charlotte, whom I knew her back then during Qiu's birthday. With a mixed feeling, I was introduced to many people till I lost count. Who was that man again? Oh he was Duke Orwarts, my uncle's brother's wife's sister's husband. Talk about DISTANT relative. It was truly a DISTANCE. They all seems to have a standard facial expression; nice on the courtesy, horrible on the face of truth. Never mind that, I saw my grandma, a fine granny with elegance. Now I know who was that voice I heard when I dreamt about my past. The hand who carried me and pat me to sleep.

"I remember you.." I said to my grandma.
"You do?" She said, surprised.
"Your voice.. I dreamt of it every night." I added.
"Really?" She said.
"Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember..." I sang the lullaby.
"That song.. I used to sing it to......." She said.
"It's really you!!" She exclaimed and hugged me.

Then I felt all eyes turning to my direction, the next thing I knew, they all became super friendly. Why? I don't know. I went up to my room. Mum had one for me. It was beautiful. The room was very big. I could fit in a whole grand piano and an orchestra with ease. Anyway, the people downstairs were here for a party.

My homecoming party.
I saw that super freak from Qiu's birthday and some familiar business associates. The freak knew very well not to come near me. When I'm done cleaning up, I went down again to join in the fun.. Well just a little.. The whole crowd suddenly turned friendly towards me.. Feels very weird.. What are these people up to? I put off the thought and continued to mingle around. Soon I was able to recognise and remember my immediate family, my grandma and grandpa; two aunts and an uncle(dad's side). These people are more sincere, not like those that were on mum's side of the family. They look like cousins of the emperor thinking of usurping the throne. Anyway, I had to suffer a two-hour lunch affair with them in the evening and after 10pm(London time), I finally had time to myself.

I took some time to survey the room.
With a flash of inspiration, I took out my mobile phone and started snapping away and immediately send all the pictures I took to Qiu. I was rather please with myself to be able to share all these with Qiu when I suddenly heard my mobile vibrate in my pocket.

"Hello?" I said.
"Pris ah," I heard Qiu said.
"What the heck are you taking?" She asked.
"Huh? I thought all can show..." I said.
"Never mind... Luckily, just now I use my digital cam to take some pictures. I send them to your mailbox." I said as I fiddled with the laptop.. sending the mail.

"So what are you doing now?" I asked casually as I transferred the picture to my mailbox.
"Nothing, just chit-chatting.. Couldn't sleep lah.." She replied.
"Oh.. I see...Erm.. Qiu.. I think you better clear your mailbox cause the mail is going to be quite.. big." I said.
"Er.. Ok." She said. Then I send her the mail.
"Wah.. 2MB ah.." She said.
"Eh.. why so long one?" She complained.
"Wait a while lah.. IT's worth it.." I said. Then...

"WWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She exclaimed over the phone.
"Er.." I held the phone in an arm's distance.
"Qiu? Erm.. I still want my ears, you know?" I said sarcastically.
"Oh, heheh.. sorry.." She replied.

"Is that your room?" She asked.
"Ya.. and the bathroom.." I added.
"THAT'S BIG.." She said.
"Ya..." I said. Then I took a look at my two city time watch..

"Er.. Qiuru?" I asked.
"It's 6am at you side there right?" I said.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING SO EARLY IN THE MORNING INSTEAD OF SLEEPING?" I said strictly.
"Er.. er..." She was lost for words.
"Go and sleep!!" I exclaimed.
"Ok, ok..." She said.
"Bye.." I said.
"Bye." She said, and I put down the phone.
'I know she finds me a nag.. but she's sick, can't she just take care of herself for once and not let the whole world worry for her? Next time I will complain to Vanness for that.' I thought.
I took a bath and retire for the night. Tomorrow's gonna be a very long day.
